It’s the people of Rider Dickerson that created our success over the last 100 years and continue to fuel our growth today. Meet our top management:

Bill Barta, President and CEO

Bill joined Rider Dickerson in 1988 as CFO, and became President in 2003 when he acquired the company. His philosophy is that Rider Dickerson should always be delivering technology innovations to clients that lead to more relevant and compelling communications. Bill has championed such value-added services as cross-media marketing, personalized URLs (PURLS), online real-time tracking, QR Codes, web-to-print solutions, sophisticated variable data and more.

Previously, Bill worked in small business consulting and auditing for Coopers & Lybrand (now Price-WaterhouseCoopers). He holds a Masters in Management from Northwestern Kellogg School of Management, and is a CPA. Bill is currently Chairman of the Printing Industry of Illinois/Indiana, and a board member of Chicago Youth Programs.

Dean Petrulakis, Senior Vice President, Business Development

Clients in a wide range of industries depend on Dean to provide innovative solutions to their marketing challenges. He often participates in a client’s upfront campaign planning sessions in order to provide recommendations that meet the marketing and creative objectives. Dean is particularly well versed in the strategies and tactics of higher education marketing--both in enrollment management and advancement. Creative agencies come to him looking for the next "wow" idea for their clients’ print campaigns. He also spearheads printForum, Rider Dickerson’s educational resource for marketing professionals.

Prior to joining the printing industry in 1997, Dean spent four years in marketing communications and print production at Dominican University in River Forest. He holds a BA in Communications from Barat College and is a member of AIGA and Dscoop (Digital Services Cooperative).

Derek Phillips, Vice President of Operations

Clients know their projects are in expert hands with Derek, as he is a master in all aspects of production, bindery, and fulfillment. Because of his depth of knowledge, Derek is uniquely skilled at innovative problem solving. He has been with Rider Dickerson since 2002, and in the printing industry since 1993. He is a member of the Young Print Executives of Illinois and the Print Industry of Illinois/Indiana.

Tim Gaber, Digital Solutions Manager

Tim is our go-to guy for creative, business-building digital solutions. As we continue to grow the digital printing side of our business, Tim is vital in helping map out campaigns and assisting our clients to prepare their data properly for complicated variable data printing. Tim is adept at developing cross media marketing campaigns, and he takes an active role in ensuring our clients’ campaigns look great and perform—both on paper and online. Tim’s nimble thinking and detail-oriented delivery has made him an invaluable member of the Rider Dickerson team since 2001. He is a member of DSCOOP, the digital industry’s knowledge sharing community.
